Calling All Volunteers!
Join the Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail and the Little Falls Watershed Alliance to remove invasive vines and shrubs along the CCT, so that native trees can thrive.
No experience necessary! We'll provide instruction as well as tools and gloves, or bring your own.
When: Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022, 1-3 pm
Where: Meet where the paved access path from Brookeway Drive meets the Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) in Bethesda (1/3 of a mile downhill from Massachusetts Ave.). If you're driving, you can park in the 4900 block of Brookeway Drive; the path entrance is at the end of the cul de sac. Walk up the path to the CCT.
Who: Open to all. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours through LFWA.
RSVP: Please register here
Bring water and sunblock. Wear long sleeves, long pants and closed toe shoes to protect against poison ivy, prickers and the sun.
COVID Safety: Participants must follow the current Maryland and CDC guidelines for COVID safe events.
Weather policy: We usually hold invasive pulls as long as there is not pouring rain or deep snow. We will post messages here and on the LFWA website by 9 am that morning if we need to cancel.
