Free the Trees on the Trail

Capital Crescent Trail at Dorset Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD inCome join the Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail to remove invasive vines and plants that are killing native trees, and help us restore native habitat along the trail. We're partnering on this monthly stewardship event with the Little Falls Watershed Alliance.
No experience necessary. We'll provide gloves and tools.
When: Saturday, March 28, 10 am to 12 pm.
Where: Meet where the Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) intersects with Dorset Avenue in Chevy Chase. There is parking on Kennedy Drive. Meet us on the downhill side of the trail at Dorset.
If you are late, look for us working our way down toward River Road.
Who: Open to all. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours through LFWA.
Bring water to drink and sunblock. Wear long sleeves, long pants, socks that cover your ankles and closed toe shoes.
Weather policy: We generally hold invasive pulls as long as there is not pouring rain, thunderstorms or deep snow. We will post messages on this page by 9 am on the day of the event if we need to cancel.
