The Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail is an all-volunteer organization. We have no paid staff and depend on volunteers for all of our trail building and educational efforts.
Our CCCT Board meets 10 times a year, and the public is welcome to all meetings. We also hold an Annual Meeting, usually in June. Upcoming Meetings are on the Event Calendar page.
Attending our meetings is a good way to find out where you may be interested in helping as a volunteer. Our Board is active in promoting enhancements and safety on the Trail, and a variety of other advocacy efforts. In addition to maintaining the Trail website, publishing a newsletter, and raising funds for Trail improvements, we engage with elected and other officials to promote Trail issues.
If you are looking for an opportunity to support the Trail, you should consider joining the Board. The CCCT is always looking for energetic and active Trail advocates to join the Coalition Board of Directors. Currently the Board has eleven members, including walkers, joggers and bikers; mainly residents of Silver Spring, Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Washington, DC. We are particularly interested in new Board members who live in or near Silver Spring to ensure all sections of the trail are represented.
Our monthly board meetings are usually held on the second Monday of each month (except June and December) from 7 pm to 9 pm. Although we normally meet in Montgomery County libraries, during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been meeting online via Zoom.
