Free the Trees on April 27th

Calling All Volunteers to Free the Trees! 

Join the Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail to remove invasive vines and shrubs on the CCT, so that native trees and plants can thrive. We're partnering on this event with the Little Falls Watershed Alliance to help restore native habitat along the trail.

No experience necessary. Clippers and gloves are provided. 

When: Saturday, April 27, 10 am-12 pm

Where: Meet at the parking lot of the Bethesda Pool, 6300 Hillandale Rd, Chevy Chase, MD 20815. Find us near the Trail crossing.

Who: Open to all. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 

Pre-approved for MCPS SSL hours through LFWA.

Bring water to drink and sunblock. Wear long sleeves, long pants, socks that cover your ankles and closed toe shoes. 

Weather policy: We generally hold invasive pulls as long as there is not pouring rain, thunderstorms or deep snow. We will post messages on this page by 9 am on the day of the event if we need to cancel.
